The "BIGGIE" for Marlene in Florence was to go visit the Uffizi Gallery. There was a phone # to call for reservation's, but it was always "busy". So Marlene and I got up early one morning and waited in line to get in! On the left is: "The boy with a splinter" On the right is: a Giotta, Alter Piece. Below left is: " God of wine" by Michelangelo! Below is: " Our lady of the Goldfinch" by Raffaello
This was a Fresco paited on the wall. The building was formerly a Palace!!
This painting is: "Annunceation" by Bottechelli.
One of our day trips outside of Florence was to the Tuscan hilltop town of Siena. This is Marlene at Piazza del Campo established in 1380. Several photos we took of the Cathedral on the left were to dark to show. I down loaded one from the internet of the Cathedral and the Plazza on the right!!
The Tower in the background is the Arnolfo Tower built in 1299. The perimeter of the Plazza is a race track!! The 17 districts of the city have horse races on July 2, & August 16 for prizes!
