Marlene’s Birthday Party

On November 26, 2004, we celebrated Marlene’s 70th birthday,! We celebrated it early because several of the children were down for Thanksgiving and would not have been able to come back on Dec.4th. She received a bouquet of flowers from me on the left and the beautiful orchards from her daughter Valerie on the right!

On Sunday, December 5th, We had a luncheon for Marlene with several of the children at “Anthonys” a local seafood restaurant in La Mesa, Ca. Step daughter Cynthia Indseth gave her some Italian biscotti and tea. Daughter Valerie gave her the orchards above, Panettone [ Italian bread] and some special perfume! Also attending were son John Phillips and his wife Elaine and son Nieto, Dave Indseth  and daughter Alexandra.

Here the group is singing ”Happy  Birthday” to the Honoree!

This photo is of Marlene and lifelong friend Carol Nielsen. Marlene and Carol grew-up together on Malcolm street in San Diego, Ca. They have maintained a close relationship for almost as long as they can remember! Carol has not been in good health for the last few years, but she was able to make it for the party, all the way from Escondido, Ca. where she lives. Marlene is sharing photo’s of them together over the years!
