Mezzomorreale Page Three

Fontana del Pescatore  (Fish Fountain) made in 1767 to enhance the drive to the Monreale Cathedral. Not too far from the other fountain, our ancestors would of gone here also.

Here is our gang looking over the views of the valley from Monreale, Marlene, Orsola and Massimo.The green area is the place our family came from,Mezzomorreale, you can see the Bay of Palermo.

Palermo’s Medieval church, La Martorana.built in 1143, Arab-Norman bell tower. Inside has Byzantine mosaics. Popular place for weddings, there was one when we went in.(below) Next door was church of San Cataldo. 12th century cubic form church.

Piazza Politeama, in front of the Teatro (theatre) Politeama. This is where we caught the buses and the Information Center we used a lot.
