St. Nicholas cemetery in Garfield N.J. Steve points to the spot where Placido is buried. Steve is a Deacon in the Catholic Church and shared a prayer service for Placido! He needs a tombstone so the 2 families of Placido put money together and almost one year later, Placido got his Tombstone! He was buried here in 1909 at the age of 71. The grave-marker was placed in Sept. of 2005, a long wait. Placido had at least 9 children, all but 1 born in Sicily. Placido was a fruit merchant in Palermo, New York and New Jersey. Maria Marchese is also noted on the tombstone, she was Placido's grandaughter from son Joe, of N.J. She died a few days after birth. This was a discovery for the N.J. Marchese's.
